Important Yogas in Vedic Astrology
Vedic Jyotish is full of good and bad yogas and Parvat yog is another one of good yogas which are formed in a horoscope according to Vedic Jyotish. Parvat yog is considered as a very auspicious yog by many vedic astrologers and it is said that the formation of Parvat yog in a horoscope can bless the native with good to great amount of wealth, prosperity, status, fame and many more things. Different vedic astrologers have different opinions when it comes to the formation of Parvat yog in a horoscope. The first group of vedic astrologers believes that if Kendra houses of a horoscope are occupied by one or more than one planets, a Parvat yog is formed in the horoscope which can bless the native with many good things some of which have already been mentioned above. For the knowledge of readers who are not much familiar with the terms of vedic Jyotish, house number 1,4,7 and 10 in a horoscope are called the Kendra house of that horoscope and the placement of one or more than one planets in these 4 kendra house is said to form Parvat yog in the horoscope. Another group of vedic astrologers believes that if Kendra houses of a horoscope are occupied with one or more planets and there is no planet in 6th and 8th house of the horoscope, a Parvat Yog is formed in the horoscope. This school of astrologers believes that the placement of one or more than one planets in 6th or 8th house of the horoscope can nullify the formation of Parvat yog in the horoscope. Some of these vedic astrologers further believe that the presence of benefic planets in 6th house and 8th house of the horoscope does not cancel the formation of Parvat Yog if Kendra houses are occupied by benefic planets.
Another group of vedic astrologers believes that if in a horoscope, lord of ascendant is placed in any one of the Kendra houses and the lord of 12th house is also placed in one of the Kendra houses at the same time, a Parvat Yog is formed in the horoscope where the placement of Saturn in a Kendra house as the lord of Aquarius ascendant or Lagna is taken as an exception to this rule which means that the placement of Saturn in any one of the Kendra houses as the lord of Aquarius ascendant or lagna does not form a Parvat yog in the horoscope which is due to the reason that Saturn as the lord of Aquarius Ascendant or Lagna also owns the 12th house at the same time along with ascendant or Lagna and hence the lord of ascendant and lord of 12th house are the same in case of Aquarius ascendant or lagna and therefore Parvat yog is not formed in the horoscopes which have Aquarius as their ascendant or lagna, according to this definition of Parvat Yog. Hence there are many definitions for the formation of Parvat yog but the first definition of this yog is the most prevalent one and accordingly most of the astrologers predict the formation of Parvat yog in a horoscope according to the first definition which states that all Kendra house of a horoscope should be occupied with one or more than one planets in order for a Parvat yog to form in that horoscope.
In my practice of Vedic Jyotish, I have seen that the good results associated with Parvat yog are not experienced by many natives who are having kendra houses of their horoscope occupied by one or more than one planets even if there are no planets in 6th and 8th house of their horoscopes. The reason for this deviation in case of many horoscopes is that the formation of Parvat Yog should not be decided merely on the basis of placement of planets in kendra houses of a horoscope and it should also be made sure that all the planets placed in such Kendra houses of a horoscope are working as benefic planets in that horoscope because a negatively working planet or a malefic planet does not form a good yog in a horoscope and it only forms defects or doshas in the horoscope which trouble the native with various kinds of problems instead of giving the good results associated with Parvat Yog and other auspicious yogas mentioned in Vedic Jyotish. Hence, kendra houses of a horoscope should be occupied with benefic planets in order for Parvat yog to form in a horoscope. I have also observed in many horoscopes that the presence of some planets in 6th or 8th house of a horoscope does not completely cancels the formation of Parvat Yog in the horoscope provided kendra houses are occupied by benefic planets. However, the placement of some planets in 6th or 8th house of a horoscope can definitely reduce the benefic results of Parvat yog particularly if the planets placed in these 2 houses are malefic planets. It should also be noted here that benefic planets and malefic planets do not mean natural benefics like Jupiter, Venus and natural malefics like Rahu and Ketu but the specific nature of all planets in a particular horoscope under consideration for Parvat yog is taken into account when deciding benefic and malefic planets for that horoscope.
I have also observed that the horoscopes having their lord of ascendant or lagna and lord of 12th house placed in 2 kendra houses are also capable of giving benefic results like those given by Parvat Yog when such lords of ascendant and 12th house are working positively or they are benefic planets for the horoscope under consideration. And though the benefic results in such horoscopes are not equal to those given by Parvat Yog but I have seen many such horoscopes still giving strong benefic results like Parvat Yog particularly when such horoscopes were free from any major dosha like Pitra Dosh, Kaal Sarp Dosh or Manglik Dosh.
